In short, it’s bright, colorful and I never struggled with the viewing angles, regardless of where I was sitting in the house or how much sun was streaming in from outside. (OK, that’s the last time I’ll use the word “percent” for a while.) It’s also 12.5 percent brighter, according to Microsoft. The touchscreen here is 11 percent larger than before - 13 inches, up from 12.3 - with a 2,880 x 1,920 resolution that’s nearly 11 percent sharper than the Pro 7. Even with the original Surface, which debuted in 2012, the bright, high-res, low-glare panel was a standout on an otherwise confused seeming device.
Microsoft has always offered lovely displays on its Surface devices.
